Eatwise & Exercise

Eatwise & Exercise is a collaborative initiative between Foodstuffs, product suppliers, BrandWorld (Creators of Eating Well and Family Health Diary) and the Heart Foundation to promote healthy eating and physical activity messages. The Heart Foundation’s role has been to provide healthy eating advice, and co-ordination from a health perspective. Eatwise & Exercise is part of the supermarket project under the Food Industry Demonstration Pilot.

Eatwise & Exercise is supported by a substantial media campaign including television, internet and print, as well as New World supermarkets providing instore support. A print run of 1.2 million Eat Wise & Exercise booklets will be available free to shoppers. Two booklets are being developed to support this campaign, the first of which is currently available and the second will be made available in April. TV infomercials are currently being shown on TVOne and TV2 around 5.30 each night, and more information can be seen at www.eatwise-exercise.co.nz.

The campaign is being launched nationally in February through New World stores nationwide. An official public relations/media launch will happen next Tuesday at Thorndon New World Wellington – with the Minister of Health, Silver Ferns and children from a local school in attendance.
