Lost property

I've got a pair of pants here from Tuesday night's session - I will bring them next week, but if you need them before that let me know and I'll leave them at my back door.

Taylors Nelson Women's Triathlon

The entry form for the 22nd Taylors Nelson Women's Triathlon on April 5th 2009 will be released this coming Wednesday, the 28th of January. To download your copy visit http://www.nelsonevents.co.nz/WomensTri.htm

The training program is now online - this year there is a beginner or intermediate level plan to choose from. Click here to read more.

New for 2009 is the Port Nelson Partners Challenge - you complete the Womens Tri and your partner completes the Port Nelson Bloke's Day Out (March 29). Your times are added together and the couple with the lowest cumulative time is the winner. The rules are simple - same house, same bed! All entrants go in the draw to win a weekend escape for two.

If you are keen to get your workmates involved then why not enter the NBS Corporate Challenge - two staff members from the same workplace complete the triathlon individually, their times are added together and the team with the lowest cumulative time is the winner. All entrants go in the Major Corporate Spot Prize Draw. You may like to sign up to one of the Corporate Packages - click here to read more.

There are also family challenges - so check out the website for more details. 2009 sees the introduction of the Port Nelson Kauri Kids Aquathon on April 3rd. If Mum does the Women's Tri and Dad does the Bloke's Day Out then Junior gets to enter the Aquathon for free. Watch the website for more details.

Entry for the Taylors Nelson Women's Triathlon is limited to 500, so make sure you get your entry in quickly when they are released on Wednesday.

Only two more weeks of sea swimming left

Only two more weeks of sea swimming left so if you haven't made it down to the beach yet, then make it tonight! 6.30pm at the Abel tasman statue carpark entrance to the beach. Remember to bring a cap and goggles to make it easier on yourself.

If you are really not into sea swimming then head along to the Striders Summer Running and Walking Series. Tonight is 3km, from the Maitai Golf Club. It's called a Turkey Trot and the idea is to guess what time you will do - no watches allowed! 6pm start - all welcome and no entry fee.

Second session for 2009

I hope you are ready for the second session for 2009 tonight. 6.30pm at the beach - meet at the entrance via the Abel Tasman Statue carpark.
If you have a swimming cap and goggles you will find it much easier. Last week we spent the majority of time in the water, and we plan to do that again this week. Lionel is going to give a few pointers on entry and exit along with continuing practise of sighting techniques. It might be nice to bring a bottle of water for getting the sea taste out of your mouth once you finish.

Congratulations to all of you who completed the Shoe Clinic Nelson Striders Half Marathon or 10km on Sunday - results are now online on www.nelsonevents.co.nz so check out the superb performances of our active women!!

Happy New Year to you all!

I hope your Christmas and New Year Celebrations were enjoyable and that you are now hanging out for the 2009 section of the Nelson Women's Activator Series!!
We start back this coming Tuesday evening at 6.30pm. Meet at the beach entrance from the Abel Tasman Statue carpark. I would suggest you come along already dressed in your togs, with a warm top on (it can get rather chilly on the beach, especially when you're already wet).
See you there!
