Final Session for 2009

Tomorrow night we meet again at Tahuna Beach (by the Abel Tasman Statue carpark) for a sea swim with the Nelson Tri Club. 6.30pm. Remember to bring a bright coloured cap with you and something warm for afterwards. If you're not keen on getting in the water, then don't forget the NBS Nelson Striders meet in Bridge St at 5.45pm for a 45min-1hr walk or run.

This is our final night for this year, we return on the 25th of January on Monday evenings, starting with Orienteering. I will email you with more details on where this will be held closer to the time.

See you tomorrow,
:)

Sea Swimming and the Port Nelson Summer Sea Series

If you are keen on trying the Port Nelson Summer Sea Series on Thursday nights then check out the Nelson Tri Club's website http://www.nelsontriclub.co.nz or go directly to the online register link - http://regonline.activeglobal.com/builder/site/Default.aspx?eventid=718322

A couple of pointers for those that were in wetsuits:

If your had a bit of space in wetsuit, ie, it wasn't clinging to you like a second skin, then you may have felt a bit of air inside your suit. If a wetsuit is too big then it can become more of a hindrance as it makes it more difficult to swim in the water. Hard though ... do you go for warmth ... or ease of swimming.

Also, to make your suit easier to get on and off, I often use some baby oil rubbed onto the end of the arms and the end of the legs.
