Well done to you all!

Congratulations to all of you for taking that first step and signing up to the series, and then making that personal challenge of starting your way towards a more active lifestyle. It has been wonderful to get to know so many of you and see you progress each week. I hope you do stay active over the winter and keep working your way to your goals. We are going to have a second series so let me know what other kind of activities you might be interested in and I will do my best to organise them for Series #2! Also - a Mens series is on its way, so ask your friends/workmates/hubbies/partners ... what they would like and let me know.
Keep active, and I'll see you out on the roads, trails or water!

Final Session for First Series

This Tuesday is the final session for the Nelson Women's Activator Pilot Series. Come along and have a drink at The Verdict to celebrate your successes, and chat to each other about the highs and lows of the past six/seven months.
6.30pm on Bridge St.
For those of us that can make it earlier, we will be joining up with the NBS Nelson Striders at 5.45pm for a 45 min run or walk (they have both running and walking groups) before drinks. It is free and everyone is always looked after so don't worry about being too slow - you won't be!!
They meet at the 'Striders carpark' - opposite the Suter Art Gallery on Bridge St.
Hope to see you all there, remember a number of the enthusiasts/professionals will be coming along too, so it is your chance to chat to them and thank them for their help.

Only two week's left!

This week we will go for a run/walk together up the Maitai and cover the Women's Tri course - we will aim for the full 5km.
6.30pm at the 'Striders Oval' - the cricket ground after the first bridge of the Maitai Valley.
Next week we will have some celebration drinks at The Verdict in Bridge St. Come along, thank the people who have been involved in this pilot series and enjoy a drink or two to celebrate your individual successes.
If you want to go for a run or walk beforehand, then the Striders meet just down the road opposite the Suter at 5.45pm and go out for approx 45minutes. Perfect timing!

This week's session

We will revisit the one mile time trial course up the Maitai Valley. We will meet at the cricket oval (aka the 'Striders Oval') - just up from the toilet block (inbetween the first two bridges) at 6.30pm and walk or run up to the bridge opposite Sharlands Creek together. We will start the walkers first this time - giving them a head start on the runners.

For those of you that would prefer to go off-road then don't forget about the NBS Nelson Striders Off-Road Running and Walking Series - they meet from the Botanics tomorrow night, 6pm start. The course is over the Centre of NZ and return. Check out www.nelsonstriders.co.nz for more info.
