Just a quick note to let you know that we will soon have the 2012 2013 Registration Form ready to go - so let anyone you know who maybe keen to keep an eye out on this blog and Live Nelson in the letterbox.
The series is set to start on Tuesday 18th September, and there will be some new sports to try in the mix this time round too, along with the tried and true.
Also - for any male friends, family, colleagues - MANSPORT will be coming in October - again more info in Live Nelson and the NCC website soon, but essentially similar format to the womens one, just over less time (theres will have darts, smallbore rifle shooting, boxing, cycling, running/walking and strength sessions).
If you have any ideas or contacts for any potential sessions at any time, please pass these on to me - always looking for new ideas! Email is easiest for me - nelsonactivator@gmail.com
As always, keep active and see you out there! (I can say that now, as I went for my first buggy run today with Evie).

CLM 2012 Business House Relays at Riverside Pool
The CLM Business House Relays are a great way to get active and socialise with your workmates, as well as being part of a national event! The competition starts on the 5th of June and will run for 5 weeks. Each week, teams will book a time at the pool during our pool opening hours to swim their 100m relay. It's a "virtual" relay (so not all teams have to be at the pool at the same time) and results will be posted onto the CLM website each week, and can be compared with other teams around town and across the country!
Entry to the Business House Relays is $100 per team of 4, and that price includes unlimited casual swimming and spa's for the team members for the duration of the 5 week competition. (Which when you work it out is actually really great value!) So get your workmates together and have some fun...perhaps your workplace will sponsor your entry!
For more details visit: http://www.clmnz.co.nz/facilities/76/ or call Riverside Pool on (03) 546 3221 and ask to speak to Jo, Ray or Dave.
We look forward to welcoming your team to the Business House Relays 2012!

The proposed Saxton Field Cycling Facility would have the following benefits-
· Essential facility for the growing junior development of track cyclists in the region, allowing road safety skills training in a safe environment
· Provision of a cycle safety arena to be utilized by schools and other organisatons.
· Rehabilitation opportunities and facilities for injured/disabled persons
· Support current Community funded cycle programs and create opportunities for them to grow.
· Mass Community participation
· Saxton Field is perfectly located between both Districts. This allows schools and families to access the facility by the safe purpose built cycle track networks.
· Essential facility for Track racing – fixed wheeled bikes with no brakes.
· Coaches will utilize the track with all cyclists and multi-sport athletes as a safe environment to teach in, providing increased continuity from the existing Trafalgar Park cycle track
· Track Cycling is a highly successful and high profile NZ Olympic medal sport, which requires a suitable facility to support rider development at all levels
· Saxton Field Cycling Facility strategically links with existing off-road cycle ways, and an increased number of other sporting codes at this location
· Saxton Field Cycle Track would provide a suitable venue for higher profile Track Cycling events, attracting both domestic and tourist visitors to the Region.13 March 2012
Road Cycling Session
We will have Cycling Nelson club members that will take the session, led by Village Cycles guru Jim Matthews. He will go over basic riding technique and how to ride confidently with others around you. A lot of fun! No need to have a fancy bike, as long as it has two wheels and goes forwards. Remember to bring your helmet too!
See you there, 6.30pm tomorrow night.

Boating Sports tomorrow night
Scuba, Waka Ama and Kayaking have all been filled - so if you cannot make tomorrow night's session, please let me know asap so that I can offer your spot to someone else. Remember, you need to attend tomorrow night's session if you want to attend the following week for the three boating sports, as the majority of the safety information will be covered at the session tomorrow evening.
Please remember to let your instructors know if you are not a confident swimmer or have any concerns about being on the water - it is imperative that they are aware before you get on one of the boats.
As always, keep active and I'll see you tomorrow night,
Regards,
Amanda
